Feeling rushed? Have too much to do and not enough time to do it? Can’t remember the last time you actually enjoyed yourself? Does your “to-do” list have a permanent residence in your brain?
Sounds like it’s time for you to add some balance. U of T’s “Add Balance to Every Day” campaign can help you begin to take some time for you. It’s really not that hard to do. Try taking just 10 minutes a day to refresh and relax. Here are some ideas to get you started:
- Go for a short walk
- Do a Sudoku or crossword puzzle
- Give your cat or dog a relaxing pat or chin tickle
- Read your favourite poem, or book of inspirational quotes
- Doodle or draw using colours
- Dance to your favourite song
- Do a few yoga postures
- Focus on your breathing
- Connect with a coworker and share
- Daydream
- Write in your journal
- Call a loved one just to say hello
- Read a few pages of your favourite book
- Lie down and do absolutely nothing
If you have a bit more time, why not use it for yourself? Here are some longer activities offered by U of T to help revitalize you.
