Add Balance to Every Day

Feeling rushed? Have too much to do and not enough time to do it? Can’t remember the last time you actually enjoyed yourself? Does your “to-do” list have a permanent residence in your brain?

Sounds like it’s time for you to add some balance. U of T’s “Add Balance to Every Day” campaign can help you begin to take some time for you. It’s really not that hard to do. Try taking just 10 minutes a day to refresh and relax. Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Go for a short walk
  • Do a Sudoku or crossword puzzle
  • Give your cat or dog a relaxing pat or chin tickle
  • Read your favourite poem, or book of inspirational quotes
  • Doodle or draw using colours
  • Dance to your favourite song
  • Do a few yoga postures
  • Focus on your breathing
  • Connect with a coworker and share
  • Daydream
  • Write in your journal
  • Call a loved one just to say hello
  • Read a few pages of your favourite book
  • Lie down and do absolutely nothing

If you have a bit more time, why not use it for yourself? Here are some longer activities offered by U of T to help revitalize you.
