An Undiscovered Campus
Bring a camera or your sandwich for a lunch hour exploration of some quirky and offbeat places on campus. It‘s a very casual walk and talk as we will tour the places that never feature in guide books or brochures yet sometimes make the grade as backdrops in Hollywood feature films. Our November tour will include an exploration of some of the small exquisite pieces of stained glass on campus and walk to some of the largest, richest and most remarkable yet unheralded windows. Have you ever seen a musket at Hart House? Have you ever seen how the ancient Egyptians made cotton?
On our early December tour we will search out vintage fireplaces and Christmas trees. Perfect material for your holiday card or just if you want to get excited about the upcoming seasonal vacation.
Future tours for the new year will include:
- Subterranean Secrets an exploration of the university‘s underground passageways;
- Goodbye Mr. Chips a tour of some of the oldest classrooms on campus;
- Weird Libraries a look at what little enclaves exist beyond the behemoth Robarts.
